Why would anyone buy a newspaper these days? That’s the big question that newspapers across the world have been asking for the past decade as the internet, and it’s wealth of information, have taken over the way consumers access information.
If you want to see what’s in the newspaper, most of the information you want to see can be seen online. Want to access the sports section? Log onto the newspaper website, click on the sports section and read to your hearts content. Looking for breaking news? The newspaper probably isn’t even your first-choice for breaking news as the internet provides so many more options.
There are still some people that love their newspapers? It may be old school, but there are people that love getting the newspaper, sitting down with a cup of coffee, and browsing through a wealth of information.
Newspapers, especially a Sunday newspaper, still provide a wealth of advertising information. During the Holiday season, newspapers are stuffed with shopping guides and extra advertising announcing the big sales in the retail world. One of the big problems newspapers face is those advertising dollars are being spread to other mediums as internet savvy consumers find their way to other sources of information.
With advertising dollars being hard to come by, many newspapers across the United States have closed. Even newspapers that have been in business for decades have found the high-cost, low advertising too much to overcome.
Newspapers may always have a place in American folklore. Some people will still like sitting down with their paper and a cup of coffee on a Sunday morning, but the internet is taking over. If newspapers do survive, they are going to have to find new and creative ways to attract viewers.
With so many sources of information available, newspapers may always be around, but they will have to be creative to maintain their existence.

These two technologies have saved many a life during some of these terrible driving conditions.
On a more citified version of technology improvements, even those traveling by airline can access their flight information through the phones to check times, arrival and departure status via their cell phones.
It’s still a wise idea to bring emergency weather gear during tough travel conditions, but if you’re grabbing one thing, make sure that cell phone is by your side.

It’s possible that some of us just received our annual Christmas cards with wishes of merriment and a newsletter with pictures of kids and tales of the past year. For the most part, the days of letters is gone.
Social Networking on the internet has changed the way we stay in touch. If you belong to Facebook, you essentially know what’s going on in the lives of your friends and family across the globe. Even the smallest of posts gives you some idea of what’s going on in other people’s lives.
Had a great day skiing today
Watched the Raiders game this afternoon
Cooked a family dinner today, the kids were crazy and grannie complained about the pie
All of these phrases are examples of posts that can be on Facebook. Within just a few moments, you know a few things about what’s going on with friends.
Skype is another social medium that people are using to stay connected. Not all families live in the same city, state or even country. For those that have struggles for years to stay connected through phone calls, skype allows people to verbally communicate while they see each other on the computer screen. This internet mechanism is especially effective for extended families who live in different countries and don’t get to see each other very often.
The internet allows us to use file sharing programs like Ares to share and send photos, sound recordings of babies first word or steps and even send emails without ever stepping foot into a post office.
Of course nothing beats the real thing when it comes to seeing friends and family. A Social medium like Facebook gives you glimpses of what’s going on, but only with face-to face contact can you really know what’s going on. Perhaps that’s the next technological advance for the internet.

There used to be a day when you had to type the exact word matches into your search engine to find what you were looking for. Today, typing in cheap airline tickets will likely provide you with about a day’s worth of options for your airline shopping with pages and pages of results listed.
Seems like just about anything is available on the internet these days!

Socially and professionally unacceptable ways of getting Search Engine Optimization (SEO) rankings is called black hat SEO. Websites sometimes resort to black hat SEO techniques to push their web ranking higher. Higher web rankings mean greater probability of visitors to the site.

Black hat SEO techniques do not follow any guidelines of ethical SEO standards. Users are subject to poor content delivery as a result of black hat SEO. Websites that use this SEO technique leave a bad taste in the users mouth, and might prevent the user from accessing any site in that category.

Black hat SEO presents information in a distorted and manipulative manner to search engine spider programs. It is done to confuse the spider programs, so that they are forced to index the site contents. Looked down by the SEO community, this malicious technique was once upon a time legitimate. Used primarily for temporary benefits, rewards are short lived. Once the search engines find out, then the website gets punitive action. Search engines might shut out the website from any SEO activity. Black hat SEO is sometimes called spamdexing. Although they are nearly the same, spamdexing is more a subset of black hat SEO.
