We are all very fortunate to be living in this Internet booming time. Many things seem to run smoother because we can use the Internet. Aside from the business aspects of the Internet, being able to have the use  of a way to communicate efficiently and productively from home is more that just a small help, it makes a huge difference in many lives. It becomes a life line for those people who have to remain home for whatever reason. The first group to appreciate and enjoy this convenience are those who are ill or disabled and can not leave their homes.

This group now can shop for what they need with out the extra burden of getting dressed and making time consuming arrangements. They can use the Internet and their purchase is sent to their home address. They will not have to look for some one to call and come over to take them for their shopping purchases. Even those who work a full day at the workplace appreciate knowing that they won’t have to wait in line anymore and they can just go straight home instead of another extra stop on the way home.

The Internet can provide everything you may need to live in your home comfortably. The list of items offered for purchase on the Internet increases every day. All the basic needs of food, clothing and transportation can be found online. The variety of choices
go up each day. Any one can now pay their bills online and relax to a movie and popcorn that has been order from their phone. There are forums to meet and chat with people for all interests. It has become, for many folks, an individual community center without ever having to leave home.

Shared Web Hosting

Multiple racks of servers, and how a data cent...
Image via Wikipedia

When many web sites are housed on an internet server, then this is called a shared web hosting service. A server that hosts this allocates partitions to each website. By doing this, websites are in their own zones on the server. Looking at this, we understand that shared web hosting sounds inexpensive, than using a standalone web hosting service provider who is only hosting your website. From a maintenance standpoint, all the websites sitting on the servers pay the maintenance charges to the web host.

Small business, personal websites, can make use of the shared web hosting model. But if there are a lot of internet visitors to the website then it is better to go for an internet web host like a dedicated web host. Dedicated web hosts are servers that are leased for only one client. Another dedicated web hosting model is by using virtual private server (VPS) internet web hosting service. A point to be noted is that there are also free internet web hosts.

Shared hosting will work if a new website is launched and is primarily on a litmus-test mode. Or in other words just wants to gauge the response to it. Shared web hosts can install software that tracks the number of internet visitors to the website. Shared web hosting might not provide the best bandwidth or storage that you might expect. Also, web usage metrics are not great sometimes, because, the rates are low, and web hosts might need to contend with doing more with less. Support for database is also limited. Unlike paid webhosting that supports MySQL, shared web hosting might not provide it.

Shared webhosting works for first-timers. With minimal technical know-how one can get the website up and running. Although support is not there for the database, the server administration is generally good. Low downtimes, and low network non-connectivity frequencies. Due to the presence of other websites, shared web hosts are always on their toes. Although security levels are quite low, and software usage is limited to what the web host provides, it is definitely worth a take for small-time websites.

How Your Website Should Be

If you want to have a great online business than you know that you have to do things right. You have to have a great product and great people to push that product and protect that vision that you have for it. You need a good business model and you need to know your audience and their wants and needs. But if you want your business to succeed online than you need something that is far more important. You need a killer website. If you look at the most successful online companies they all have a killer website. And if your business is going to be successful online then you need a website that is as good as what your are promoting.

The first thing your website needs is to be organized. The last thing a customer wants to do is get onto your website and feel lost trying to figure out how to order the product or how to conduct a member of your team. That’s why the main page should have two things on it to start.

1. What Your Product is – People who visit the site, on purpose, or accidentally should have no questions about what it is you are selling or offering. If they have to ask themselves what your company is all about you need to revamp your homepage. People have short attention spans and so they won’t take the time to figure it out. If you cannot tell them then they won’t be interested in finding out.

2. How They Can Buy It/Order It – The second most important thing is to make sure you give you customers quick and painless access to getting the product for themselves. They don’t want to have to figure out how to obtain their services. There should be an “order” or “contact us” tab right in plain view next to every direct advertising for the site. You have to make sure nothing gets between you and a sale.
Your website needs to be well presented. Your business depends on the quality of it. Don’t let yourself down.

Why You Need A Good Website

Having a business is great but not when you can’t find people to buy your product or your services. There is nothing more difficult than getting people attracted to your product. So how do you get your product more exposure? The simple and most obvious answer is the internet. However, advertising on the internet poses two general problems:
1. It’s Expensive – To advertise properly and to the greatest number of people in the most traditional fashion is expensive. Companies invest millions of dollars to advertise online and if you own a small business then it might not be feasible to sink that kind of money into it.
2. It’s Risky – Sure, spending millions on advertising should show some increase in sales but even investing a smaller amount doesn’t guarantee that you are going to get the return you were looking for on the investment. It could be costly if your business is already struggling.
So how do you get an online presence without breaking the bank? How do get an online presence for relatively free? The answer starts with a website. If you are hoping your business is going to succeed you need to get yourself a basic, professional looking website. You can hire someone to do this if you want but it’s the cornerstone of your online business. No matter where you advertise, people are going to check out your site. The harder your site is to navigate or the cheaper it seems made the harder it will be to get people to actually do business with you.
The one thing people are most worried about when they look into buying something from a website is if they are going to get a good financial return on their investment. If they think that your website was done in just a couple of minutes they will wonder if you spent just as little time on your own product. That doesn’t give them a good feeling about doing business with you. So if you want to gain a good online presence than you have to have a good website.
