When a wonderful moment happens in your life you want to capture that moment and cherish it forever. So when you pull out your digital video camera and capture the moment you have every intention of doing something about it but that does not always happen. Half the time it sits on a memory card collecting dust and fading in your mind as quickly as you thought it wouldn’t. So how do you preserve that memory for a life time? Thanks to the Internet, your memories can become a tangible and engaging thing and all it takes is some time and a little know how to make the most of the moments you’ve captured.

Once the video is shot you can upload the film onto your computer and go through the editing process. Let’s be honest, not everything you take on that day is worthy of sticking around. There is a lot of dead time and a lot of getting the camera ready for the shot and the moment you really wanted so with a simple editing program(most are already on your computer if you have a new model or can be downloaded for free online) you can cut out the fat that clutters up your memory.

You can also put a song or two behind it. Just a warning: adding clips of songs is a little more complicated so you might just want to put one or two longer songs in the background and forget about getting fancy. Once you have the video the way you want you can share it with a p2p program like Ares Galaxy or head over to youtube and upload your clip there onto your own channel. There is a great way to keep all of your memories online and you can offer your family a chance to come check it out or they can download it and watch it with a free program like xvid codec. This is a great way for relatives who don’t live close to share in the same moments and memories you have spent putting in a beautiful little package and who knows who might see your film and how much attention it could end up getting.
